While this was a fairly commonly seen bird (also abundant in Costa Rica), there weren't too many opportunities to get close enough to photograph it.  For this shot, we were on a small lake, in canoes (actually 2 canoes strapped together for better stability), and didn't scare off the wildlife as quickly.
