Butterflies

Fatima (Anartia fatima) (I.D. Courtesy of Danny Burk)

I have a few shots of this species from above and behind, showing the fairly bright orange-based color pattern. The depth of field here needed to be just a touch wider (this was taken on my first trip), but I like the overall pose to include it here despite this. Danny Burk identified the genus and species, and I found common names of Fatima, Banded Peacock and Brown Peacock associated with this i.d. Canon 100-400 at 320 mm, 32 mm extension, ISO 400, f/11, 1/60 second (manual mode), 550EX Flash EV -1, monopod with Arca-Swiss ballhead.
