These beautiful little hummingbirds were active, giving us a chance at capturing them in flight. As we all discussed, electronic flash is somewhat problematic in getting accurate colors in these (and other) birds, and is especially dependent on shooting angle. In many of the images I have of this species, the throat turns completely dark.
