Appropriately enough, this Roadside Hawk was spotted as we drove along the road. There was a fairly good chance it would take off if we got off the bus, so we opened the windows and shot without leaving the bus. I grabbed my camera, mounted to the big 600L lens, and tried to steady it with my legs as I pointed it out the window. If you look carefully, you can see that the sunlight was coming from the bird's right, so he was mostly back or side lit; fill-flash would have been useful, but just not possible shooting from inside the bus!
