We saw quite a few Kingfishers of various species, and typically they take off when you start thinking about getting closer to them. This one was an exception, however. I started off with the 600 and 1.4x teleconverter, to get some shots before it took off, but was amazed that we kept getting closer and closer, and he didnt budge! Eventually we got so close that I could no longer keep it in focus, or have the whole bird in the frame!
