This species, along with the Blue-crowned Manakin, were eagerly sought out on this trip. They were spotted numerous times, but getting decent shots was quite a challenge! I have a few images of the Blue-crowned, but not of sufficient quality to post here. This particular image is cropped fairly severely, as the bird is quite small, usually far away, and in environments not very conducive to having the big 600mm lens with me! For shots like this, I use Flash Exposure Lock (FEL) to get accurate flash exposure when the subject is small, and the background far away.
