This was my first sighting and shooting of a Pygmy Kingfisher, with the conditions challenging. Once again, in fairly deep shadows, with little natural light, so flash was pretty much necessary. To avoid the background going completely dark, I kept the ISO fairly high to maximize ambient light contribution to the exposure. One definite downside with using flash is the "steel" eye, or redeye, which I had to take care of in Photoshop.
