No set of photographs from Costa Rica is complete without at least one Scarlet Macaw shot!  We were driving along the Pacific coast, and came across close to two dozen Scarlet Macaws near the top of a tree by the side of the road.  We pulled off, found a nice hill to shoot from, and had a blast.  They were interacting with each other, flying around, and just having a great time of their own.  The sun was getting low enough that at times there was some light on the underside of their body and wings, which is often shadowed when seen in flight.
