As the sun was dropping, so was the amount of light, so I had to bump up ISO. Using the 2x teleconverter, I knew I would be compromising image quality to some degree, and so stopped down to f/11 from the f/8 I had after putting the 2x on an f/4 lens. This will help reduce the inevitable image degradation when using teleconverters.
