Maine, 2011

September 17-21, 2011

Maine is one of our favorite destinations - we love the rocky coastline, the lakes and streams, as well as the the wildlife.  We went back this past September, one of our goals was seeing and shooting the Common Loons.  As part of my Ophthalmology training many years ago, we spend 10 weeks on  East Pond, near Waterville Maine, while I attended the Ophthalmology Basic Sciences course given at Colby College.  We fell in love with the loons we would see during the day, and especially hearing their calls in the evenings and early mornings.  And we've taken several Whale Watching trips in the past, with varying degrees of success, and hoped that we would be fortunate this time around.
