Even though I knew that Albatross were big birds, I really couldn't appreciate their size until we were 'up close and personal' with them. These birds are huge! Take-offs and landings are not particularly graceful, but were a joy to watch and photograph. Their weight when coming in really results in a long "skid" as shown above.
