As I explained, the heat in Fiji, superimposed on our fatigue from being almost constantly on the move in New Zealand, really drained our energy. We didn't do any exploring of the island itself, but the resort area where we stayed was a tropical paradise. We saw quite a few of these incredibly brightly colored little birds feeding on seeds in the grass. I knew I had to try to get some pictures of them, but it wasn't easy to generate the energy to do this!
