Merritt Island is one of our favorite places to shoot, and we've been there several times.  There was more activity here than at Savannah or Harris Neck, with a number of Tricolored Herons and Reddish Egrets actively fishing, not too far from the shoreline.  As shown here, many were in full breeding colors.
