Southeast Photography Trip - 2012 - Page 1

March 16-23, 2012

Over the years, we've made several driving trips down the eastern seaboard, stopping at various birding locations in Georgia and Florida.  We hadn't done this in a few years, so headed down once again this past March.  We stopped at many of our favorite spots: Savannah and Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuges in Georgia, Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, Wakodahatchee Wetlands, Anhinga Trail and Flamingo in the Everglades National Park, in Florida.

In addition, we added a couple of new locations.  First, we met up with Eric Diller, an excellent photographer who lives in Florida, to shoot a Bald Eagle's nest north of Orlando, where he has captured some spectacular images.  I know Eric through an excellent Photography Forum where I serve as Moderator for the Wildlife Section: Open Photography Forums.  In addition, we hit the Viera Wetlands, near Melbourne, Florida, and we had a great time there.  We're definitely adding this to our list of "must stops" on these trips.

We were able to add a few new species to our collection, which is always exciting.  I hope you enjoy the images contained in these 2 galleries.
