Shark Valley is a beautiful area in the Everglades, accessed off 41, the Tamiami Trail. There is a 15 mile paved loop through this sectin of the Everglades, which can be travelled on a Tram ride, bicycles can be rented at the Park, or you can hike. We took the Tram ride one chilly, windy day, and came back another time to rent bikes. Additional information on this Park can be found here.
The Eco Pond is in the Flamingo area of Everglades National Park. There is a half-mile trail which goes around the pond which can be easily hiked. We spent late afternoon and sunset here, and the birds were plentiful. Further information on Flamingo trails can be found here.

I was frustrated trying to shoot the few Glossy Ibis I saw, as they remained within fairly dense vegetation much of the time, making a clear shot difficult.

This shot was taken from the Tram, which had slowed some, but was still moving. No opportunity to get out and change the vantage point to eliminate the stick on the left.

I had very few chance to see or shoot any Roseates; this one was quite fair away, and in glaring mid-day sun. Maybe better opportunities next time....
