Tennessee Week-end

Forbidden Caverns 1

The last 4 shots in this gallery were taken at Forbidden Caverns, about a half-hour ride from Gatlinburg, TN. We went on a 1 hour tour, and enjoyed this unique visual environment. Shooting conditions were again hostile, due to the uneven to non-existent lighting, often cramped access, deep shadows, etc. This shot was taken with the Canon 17-35 mm/f2.8 lens, at 17 mm, with ISO 100, f/4.5, 1/200 second, using the Canon 550EX flash mounted on the camera. I had to work this image a fair amount in Corel PhotoPaint 9 to bring out the shadow details at the far end of the cave, where my wife is about to enter a different section.
