We were shooting the smaller birds at the feeders behind the lodge, when this hawk abruptly came into view. I had just been shooting some birds that were more in the open, rather than those in the darker shaded areas, so my camera happened to be set correctly to shoot this hawk. This worked out great, since it came and went within just a few seconds. And I would have paid serious money for some blue skies in the background!
