Any trip to the Pacific coast has to include at least one shot of Scarlet Macaws. We spent some time at a beach area that is typically very productive for Scarlet Macaws, and a variety of other birds. We saw quite a few pairs of Macaws in "fly-bys," affording great opportunities for flight shots, although they never did land in the trees in this area, which was a shame. It's always quite fascinating to watch them interact with each other, and their acrobatics in the trees are quite amusing! Light was also at a premium, as the cloud cover was fairly dense, but having the dark skies as a background did allow some nice shots when the sun periodically broke through the clouds, as it did in this shot.
