The little lagoon is our usual turning around point during our Carara hikes, and we often see Boat-billed Herons and other wildlife there.  We were pleasantly surprised to spot this Bare-throated Tiger Heron at the far end of the lagoon, having just caught an Iguana.  I usually don't bring my 600L/f4 lens on these hikes, because of its size and weight, but definitely could have used it for this shot.  I put the 1.4x II TC on my 100-400 and did the best I could.  This still represents a fairly small crop of the original frame, which further limited image quality.  But I included it here anyway because of the uniqueness of the action.
