There were 12 in our group, and our fearless leader is at the front of the pack, often using his ice pick to create steps on the ice for better footing. The cramp-ons can be seen a little better in this shot, each having 2 broad, sharp metal spikes. The skies were mostly clear with blue skies and strong sun, and the temperatures were cool but exhilarating. I was wearing shorts and a short-sleeve shirt and was quite comfortable and enjoying every moment of it. It didn't seem like the conditions could be any better.
