It took me a second to figure out that there was a pair of butterflies here, each facing in the opposite direction. The butterfly derives its name from the almost fluorescent blue color on the other side of its wings. We saw a fair number of these out in the wild, especially on the river and canals at Tortuguero, and they are just magnificent to see.
