We had just finished the Waterfall walk, and were waiting for the shuttle to take us back up to the entrance, when we spotted this little bird in the woods. It was quite dark, so I had to rely on flash for the exposure. Because so much of the scene was a long distance off, ETTL2 was fooled, and I had to make substantial adjustment to FEC (Flash Exposure Compensation) to avoid overexposing the bird. Afterward, I remembered that I should have used FEL (Flash Exposure Lock) to obtain an accurate flash exposure (as I did in the next shot). The i.d. of this bird is courtesy of Cheryl Medow, one of the photographers participating in this trip.
