Florida Birds 1

This gallery includes images from 3 different locations, as we worked our way down the coast. We left our home and headed first to the Savannah NWR, but didn't find much to shoot there, unfortunately. I think we might have done better a little earlier in the season. Our next stop was Merritt Island NWR, where we had more success. Heading south, we next shot at Blue Cypress Lake, getting the Osprey images contained in the first gallery. Leaving that location, our next stop was Wakodahatchee Wetlands Preserve, which was also very worthwhile.

We arrived later that day in Florida City, with plans to shoot at Anhinga Trail for the next couple of days, as well as spend time with some friends who live in the area. We have enjoyed previous visits to Anhinga Trail, and we weren't disappointed this time. We were a bit shocked by the huge number of Black Vultures that greeted us at dawn, but found a reasonable number of other more colorful subjects as well.
