We saw one of those off in the distance during one of our hikes, and I wanted to try and get some shots. I saw where it landed, and started to slowly make my way in that general direction, with the rest of the group going to explore some other areas. After a little while I was astonished to see the Lava Heron fly directly to where the group was standing, landing right at their feet! It just walked around people's legs, as if they weren't there. I hurried over and took some shots, following it as it later walked off in a different direction.
