This is one of very few shots I was able to get of this beautiful bird. It's "only" a pigeon, but these are quite colorful. And the thing I liked best about them (and I never did have an opportunity to even try to capture it photographically) is their swooping flight patterns - very beautiful and exciting to watch. This was taken at "Observation Rock" on Stuart Island, which also gave us a wonderful view of the island and shore below.
