New
Zealand Birds - Part 2
This gallery
contains a couple more images from the Kaikoura area, and then
a selection of birds from the other areas we visited on the South
Island of New Zealand. I also included a few birds I saw and shot
in Fiji. By the time we hit Fiji, we were fairly exhausted from
the constant travel, moving from hotel to hotel, etc., and the
plan was to pretty much just lay out for a few days and relax
before heading home. Fiji was quite beautiful, but also quite
hot. The nearness to the equator made the sun basically too much
for me, and I spent those days moving from one area of shade to
another. Not much energy to do anything else. One afternoon saw
some clouds and slightly lower temperatures, and I managed to
overcome inertia, get my 100-400 and took some shots of several
species of birds I hadn't seen before.
